Overview

The Signature approach.

Signature installs both premium hardwood and marine-grade composite decking — around pools, off patios, over slopes and as full-elevated entertainment platforms. Balau, teak, iroko for timber, capped WPC composites for zero-maintenance installations.

We engineer the sub-frame in treated pine or galvanised steel, use hidden fasteners on the top surface, and finish with UV oils on timber or leave composite to weather naturally. Built for African summers and rainy-season storms.

Board spacing is set for drainage and thermal movement — decks that pop and buckle almost always failed at the sub-frame or the fixing detail, not the boards themselves. Our fixings, joist spacing and structural steelwork are drawn before a board is ordered.

For pool decks we specify chlorine-tolerant boards and stainless fixings, and we detail the deck-to-coping transition so water sheds away from both surfaces. Nobody enjoys a pool deck that turns green after two summers.

Why Signature

Built to a spec, not to a price.

One-contract delivery

Structure, decking, cabinetry, lighting, appliances — all in one contract. One team accountable from concept to keys.

Engineered structures

Steel and timber sized by our in-house engineer for wind, snow and appliance loads — never guessed from a catalogue.

Marine-grade specifications

Balau, teak, capped composite, hot-dip galvanised steel — materials chosen because they survive Zimbabwean weather without failing.

Integrated services

Gas, electrical, water and lighting all designed into the structure from the outset, not chased in after the fact.

Custom cabinetry

Powder-coated frames, stone or epoxy-poured worktops — outdoor kitchens built to indoor cabinetry standards.

Bespoke, not modular

Every pergola, gazebo and outdoor kitchen is drawn to your site. No off-the-shelf kits pretending to fit.

Our process

From consult to handover.

01

Lifestyle brief

We ask how you actually want to use the space — dinners for eight, Sunday braais for twenty, a quiet reading spot — and design around that, not around a catalogue.

02

Design & 3D

Layout drawings and 3D renders showing the structure, the finishes and the sightlines from inside the house looking out.

03

Engineering

Structural steel and timber sized for the span and the wind load. Roof loadings calculated for solar, planters or PV panels if part of the brief.

04

Fabrication & delivery

Steel and cabinetry fabricated in our workshop, timber sourced and machined, everything staged to arrive on site in the correct sequence.

05

Site installation

Foundations, structure, roofing, cabinetry, appliances, plumbing and electrical — one crew from start to finish, not four different sub-contractors.

06

Commissioning & handover

Gas certification where required, appliance commissioning, lighting scenes programmed and a full walkthrough with the client before sign-off.

Materials & specification

What we work with.

Materials are specified for service life, not initial capital cost. Every quote lists brands, grades and quantities so you can see exactly what your project is built from.

Structural steel

Locally rolled sections, hot-dip galvanised or duco-finished, sized by our in-house engineer for wind, snow and appliance loads.

Premium hardwoods

Balau, teak and iroko decking and cladding — dense, tannin-rich timbers that survive African weather without failing.

Capped composite decking

Marine-grade WPC boards with polymer caps for zero-maintenance, colour-stable pool decks and terraces.

Louvred and solid roofing

Aluminium louvre systems, IBR sheet, polycarbonate and thatched roof options — each with the correct engineering behind it.

Outdoor cabinetry

Marine-grade ply substrates, powder-coated aluminium frames, stone or epoxy-poured worktops that shrug off UV and rain.

Appliances & fittings

Built-in braais, gas hobs, pizza ovens, undercounter fridges, sinks and taps — specified from proven outdoor-rated brands.

Pricing guidance

Honest ranges, not guesses.

Outdoor living structures are highly bespoke. What follows is an honest guide to help clients budget before we sit down for a design conversation.

Pergola (steel or timber)

Depending on span, roof type and finishes.

USD 4,500 – 22,000

Full outdoor kitchen

Cabinetry, worktops, built-in appliances, gas and electrical.

USD 8,000 – 38,000

Composite / hardwood deck

Depending on board spec, sub-frame material and elevation.

USD 110 – 260 / m²

Fire pit feature

Wood or gas-fed, stone-clad, with optional integrated seating.

USD 1,800 – 6,500

Cost factors

  • ◆Span and roof type of the structure
  • ◆Timber species vs. composite decking
  • ◆Appliance schedule for outdoor kitchens
  • ◆Integration with existing house services (gas, electrical, water)
  • ◆Access for delivery and installation plant

We deliver outdoor living packages as one contract — design, structure, decking, cabinetry, lighting and appliances — so accountability sits with one party from concept to keys.

Maintenance & aftercare

Built to last, cared for to prove it.

Timber decking

Annual clean and re-oil — spring or early winter — to keep tannin colour and moisture protection. Composite decks need only a hose down.

Steel & aluminium

Bi-annual inspection of coatings and fixings. Any touch-up work done immediately to prevent creeping corrosion under a paint film.

Roof & drainage

Clear leaves from louvre gullies and gutters before the rainy season. A five-minute job that saves major overflow damage later.

Cabinetry & appliances

Deep clean of stone/epoxy tops, servicing of gas fittings and appliance checks are covered under an optional annual retainer.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Hardwood or composite?

+

Hardwood if you want the natural look and don't mind an annual oil. Composite if you want zero maintenance and stable colour.

How long does a deck take?

+

A typical 40m² pool deck is complete within 7–10 working days, weather permitting.

Warranty?

+

Ten-year structural warranty on the sub-frame. Composite boards carry the manufacturer's warranty (typically 15–25 years).

Where in Zimbabwe do you operate?

+

Nationwide, from our offices in Harare, Bulawayo and Gweru. We travel to Mutare, Victoria Falls, Kariba, Masvingo, Hwange, Beitbridge and every point in between.

How do I get a fixed-price quote?

+

WhatsApp us, call, or complete the quote form. A specification lead responds within one working day and books a site visit where required.

What warranty do you offer?

+

Every Signature installation carries a written workmanship warranty. Terms vary by discipline — ten years on residential paving, ten years on resin systems, structural warranties on outdoor structures.

Do you take on tender and BOQ work?

+

Yes. We submit BOQ-priced returns for government, municipal, estate and corporate tenders across every service line.

Can we phase the work over time?

+

Absolutely. Large projects are often phased over financial years or seasons. We plan the sequence so early phases don't become obstacles to later ones.

Do you handle gas and electrical for outdoor kitchens?

+

Yes — gas certification and electrical compliance are included in outdoor kitchen and lighting contracts.
